BEST OF ARCHIVE

Over the last couple of months, we asked you to vote for your favourite stuff of last year. The response has been quite amazing, and the result sometimes unexpected. As most of you have voted Board Of Canada’s Geogaddi as their favourite album of 2002, with Múm and Murcof following very closely, the worst album competition was won by no less than Michael Jackson – probably the first, and hopefully last time he will be mentioned on themilkfactory – with Underworld obviously not meeting much more respect with their fourth album. The single category sees Eminem, Missy Elliott and the Flaming Lips rubbing shoulders with Plaid, Dntel, Múm or Prefuse 73. Mike “The Streets” Skinner came up on top in the new comer category, with Murcof once again following closely, very much reflecting the vote in the office. Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers made it to the top very unsurprisingly, but what has amused us the most was to see Tony Blair sharing the personality of the year distinction with Eminem, Mike Skinner, Aphex and Squarepusher.
