ASCOLTARE
Visceral Vendor
Released on newly formed Tripel Records, Ascoltare’s
first album is an interesting collection of complex
electronic constructions combined with superb melodies.
A very promising debut.
AUTECHRE
& THE HAFLER TRIO æ3o&h3æ
This collaboration between two monuments of the electronic
scene is likely to appeal more to fans of the Hafler
Trio than to Autechre’s, yet, given time, this
album reveals some superb emotional structures.
DEADBEAT
Something Borrowed, Something New
Apparently chronicling the nine months leading
to Deadbeat’s Scott Monteih wedding, Something
Borrowed, Something New has an organic watery theme
running through its ten tracks.
DYKEHOUSE
Midrange
Those expecting a continuation of Dykehouse’s
2001 debut are in for a shock with Midrange.
Far from the complex electronic structure of its predecessor,
this second album by Michigan-based Mike Dykehouse celebrates
the shoegazers of the early nineties with a sound reminiscent
of Slowdive, Ride or Curve.
JEM FINER
GTR / JEM FINER & ANDREW KÖTTING Visionary
Lanscapes
Two very different albums from former Pogue
Jem Finer. On GTR, he nurses an interesting
link between his guitar and computer, creating dense
soundscapes, while on Visionary Landscapes,
he dissects the work of filmmaker Andrew Kötting.
KID
SPATULA Meast
This third Kid Spatula album collect some of
Mike Paradinas’s work recorded between 1994 and
1998 and demonstrate the progression and diversity of
his style.
MÚM
Summer Make Good
Poets of the electronic scene, Múm return
following the departure of Gyða Valtýsdóttir,
with there third album. Here they dig deeper into the
emotional soil of their music to extract its very essence.
Stunning.
SCHNEIDER
TM Reconfigures
Schneider TM returns with this collection of
remixes done for a wide range of artists, from Pulseprogramming
or Lamb to Lambchop .
TELEFON
TEL AVIV Map Of What Is Effortless
Second album for new Orleans-based Telefon
Tel Aviv. Here, the duo ditch arid forms of electronica
for warmer, more accessible compositions. This is not
all coffee-table music though…

A Beginner's Guide To The Music Of Throbbing Grislte
Pioneers of the industrial and electronic scenes.
Throbbing Gristle re-emerge this year, first with Mutant,
a collection of remixes, then with a compilation retracing
some of TG's best moments. Both albums provide an ideal
point of entry for the band’s work.
