This is the second installment in Hed Kandi’s Back To Love series. Once again, Mark Doyle brings together some timeless classics on one album, just like he does on Back To Love, the club night.
Clocking at 25 tracks in over two hours, Back To Love 2 is jam-packed with absolute dance floor killers. Who hasn’t boogied on Ce Ce Rogers’ Someday, Deee-Lite’s Groove Is In The Heart, Soul II Soul’s Back To Life or Lil’ Louis’ French Kiss. All these tracks have been, at one time or another, part of our lives, and it is with great pleasure than we can hear them collected here for us on two CDs. There’s enough on this compilation to tire out even the most introverted of clubbers.
Back To Love 2 is, like its predecessor, a refreshing journey down memory lane. It is an essential album to any music lover, and should be prescribe on the NHS, if only for the feel good effect it carries. Some viruses are better than others, and Back To Love 2 is the sweetest of them all.
