LEMON JELLY AND YOU

Following a successful UK tour and recent dates at Glastonbury
and T In The Park, Lemon
Jelly have announced details about Jelly Lab, a travelling
mini festival which will be touring the UK this October.
Jelly Lab will include live performances by drum’n’bass
duo London Elektricity and Lemon
Jelly, plus a DJ set from Tom Middleton. Jelly Lab
will also give the chance for an unknown artist every
night. This slot is open to everybody. To take part, just
log on to the Lemon
Jelly website and submit an MP3, which will be made
available online for the public to vote for their favourite
artists, with the favourite getting a slot at the Brixton
Academy. Dates for the tour as follow: Birmingham (2/10),
Manchester (3/10), Glasgow (4/10), Brighton (6/10), Norwich
(7/10), Bristol (8/10) and Brixton (11/10). |

LES
SIESTES ELECTRONIQUES SECOND EDITION

second edition of French festival Les Siestes Electroniques
will take place between 20 July and 3 August in Toulouse.
All the performances, spread over three weekends, are
entirely free, giving the opportunity for the general
public to experience and enjoy electronic music. The line
up for this year’s edition includes Murcof,
Colleen,
Sylvain Chauveau,
Aoki Takamasa,
Sogar, Braille, Hermann&Kleine and many more. For

SPIRITUALIZED NEW ALBUM
AND TOUR DETAILS ANNOUNCED

Spiritualized
have parted company with their record company, BMG/Arista,
ending a collaboration which had started in 1990 it was
recently announced on the band’s
website. The forthcoming Spiritualized
album, Amazing Grace will be released on Spaceman
Records through Sanctuary on 8 September. The band are
currently scheduling some live dates in the UK, US and
Europe to coincide with the release of the new album.
Contrasting with Jason Spaceman’s legendary slow
working process, Amazing Grace was recorded in
just three weeks last October, and is announced as being
‘Spiritualized
at their most exiting, energized, raw and heartfelt. All
the songs have been recorded live. In the month prior
to the release of the album, a series of three 12”
only EPs will be released, eventually incorporating all
the songs from the album. The first EP will be released
on 18 August, with EP2 following on 25 August and the
last in the series on 1 September.
The track listing for the album is as follow: Hold
On, Never Going Back, The Power And
The Glory, Lord Let It Rain On Me, Oh
Baby, Rated X, Lay It Down Slow,
She Kissed Me (It Felt Like A Hit), This
Little Life Of Mine and The Ballad Of Richie

PLACARD LONDON HEADPHONE
FESTIVAL

Global festival Placard is finally landing in London,
six years after the first edition in Paris, New York,
and more recently Tokyo. Placard London Headphones festival
will take place on 19 July at State51 between 12noon and
12am. The particularity of this event is that all performances
will be heard via headphones (bring your own) in the venue,
and broadcast over the internet on Placard’s website.
Artists involved in the project include Si-Cut.db,
Chesh, Richard Thomas, Motion, Leafcutter
John, Gagarin,
Cursor Minor,
Datamath and many more. The entrance to the festival will
be free, but donations will be accepted. For more info,

seminal Frequencies was released, Mark
Bell is finally announcing the release of his third
LFO album, Sheath,
on 22 September on Warp. The album will be preceded by
a single, Freak, in August. |

LIVE DATES

Warp
have announced details of the forthcoming Squarepusher
US, Canada and UK tour. Tom ‘Squarepusher’
Jenkinson, whose recent performance at the Ocean in Hackney,
North London, as part of the Sonar In London showcase
has got everybody talking, will be touring in the US with
Luke Vibert, whose set to release his long awaited new
album, YosepH on Warp in October. Dates are as
follow: 18/07: Chicago, 19/07: New York, 20/07 Montreal,
22/07 Toronto, 23/07 San Francisco, 25/05: Los Angeles
and 26/07: Seattle. Tom will follow with a mini UK tour
in August, with two dates in London on 6 and 7/08. He
will then go on to play Liverpool (8/08), Sheffield (9/08),
Edinburgh (11/08) and Notthingham (12/08). |

FAT-CAT UNION CHAPEL GIGS
CANCELLED

Fat-Cat
announced today that the two Union Chapel gigs in London,
scheduled for 1st and 2nd August have been cancelled due
to reasons beyond the label’s control. The good
people at Fat-Cat are planning to reschedule the two evenings
later on this autumn. Tickets already purchased will be
fully refunded. The event was part of the label’s
sixth birthday celebration, together with the freshly
released Branches
& Routes compilation. For more information,

ARCOLA BASS RAVE 2

Following from the first Arcola Bass rave at the Arcola
Theatre in May, Warp will be hosting Arcola Bass 2 at
London’s Plastic People in London on 17 July. The
line-up includes Dub Kult, Louis Digital and Warp DJs,
plus a laptop set from the label’s newest signing,
Steve Milanese. Warp will be following the event with
the release of the first in the series of its Arcola 12”
