BIOSPHERE GOES TO THE MOON
20 June 2004
Biosphere Biosphere’s Geir Jenssen will release his new album, Autour De La Lune, on Touch on 23 August. The project started when Jenssen was commissioned a piece for the Radio France festival in Montpellier last year. He was granted access to the archive of Radio France, France’s national radio network. He selected a 1960’s dramatisation of Jules Verne’s nineteenth Century book De La Terre A La Lune, in which he described a space travel from Earth To the Moon, nearly a hundred years before the US put a man on the Moon. For his record, which is a prolongation of the original live performance, Jenssen used excerpts of the dramatisation together with sounds recorded at the MIR space station and incorporated them into his music. For more information, check the Biosphere and Touch websites.
