BJÖRK
NEW ALBUM DETAILS ANNOUNCED
14 July 2004 |
 |
Details
about Björk’s
follow-up to her 2001 album Vespertine
are starting to filter. According to Bjork.com,
the album, called Medúla is due out in
late August/early September. In an interview with Rolling
Stone, Björk
tells of how the album was entirely conceived around vocals,
with no instruments. The album features collaborations
with The Roots’ Rahzel, known as the ‘Human
Beatbox’, who provides percussive bass line on a
majority of songs, Inuit throat-singer Yanya Tagaq, and
former Faith No More frontman Mike Patton. Following the
release of Medúla, Björk
is set to return to the studio. She declared to Rolling
Stone: "Every album I've done, the minute that it's
done, I feel really lubricated and, like, 'Wow, now I
can write an album in five minutes,'" she says. "And
I just want to find out if that's just a fantasy or if
it's true." |
