Susanna
& The Magical Orchestra, AKA Norwegian artists
Susanna Wallumrød (vocals) and Morten Qvenild (keyboards,
harmonium and autoharp), will follow the release of their
superb debut album, List
Of Lights & Buoys, on Rune Grammofon, with
a live performance as part of the BBC Radio 3 London Jazz
Festival, on 19 November at the Spitz. Susanna
& The Magical Orchestra will share the bill with
Acoustic Ladyland and Oslo-based singer Hanne Hukkelberg.

JUANA
MOLINA TO TOUR THE UK

Argentinean
singer songwriter Juana Molina will follow the release
of her third album, Tres Cosas, on 13 September
on Domino with a series of live dates across the UK. This
tour of the UK comes as her second album, Segundo,
has just been nominated for the 2004 Shortlist Prize,
the US equivalent of the Mercury Music Prize. Molina’s
UK tour will kick off on 18/09 at Home Fires Festival,
Cornwall Hall, London, then dates as follow: Newcastle
(20/09), Glasgow (22/09), London (23/09), Bristol (24/09)

due to unforeseen circumstances Fat-Cat announced today.

BRAVE NEW MUSIC IN GLASGOW

The
Arches in Glasgow will play host once again to Instal,
a two-day festival of new music. Now in its fourth year,
the festival will take place on 16-17 October, with performances
from Current 93, Six Organs Of Admittance, Charlemagne
Palestine, Chie Mukai and Richard Yougs on Saturday, while
Varja (Keiji Hanio, Kan Mikami & Toshi Ishizuka),
Derek Beiley and Ingar Zach, Steffen Basho-Junghans, Kan
Mikami, Exias-J and Masayoshi Urabe will perform on Sunday.

MAKE GOOD FOR MÚM NEW EP

Icelandic
trio Múm
will be releasing their new EP, Dusk Log, on
Fat-Cat on 6 September. The EP follows the band’s
third album, Summer
Make Good, which was released earlier this year.
Dusk Log features Will Summer Make Good For
All Of Our Skin, taken from the album, plus three
previously unreleased tracks: Dusk Log, Kostrzyn
and This Nothing In The Faraway. Bafta-award
winning director Mark Craste has recently completed his
first music video for the band’s Will Summer
Make Good For All Of Our Skin. |
