DETAILS
OF NEW VASHTI BUNYAN ALBUM ANNOUNCED

British
folk legend Vashty Bunyan, who is named by the cream of
today’s music scene, from Devendra Banhart to Four
Tet, as a major influence, will be releasing her second
album, Lookaftering, 35 years after her debut,
Just Another Diamond Day was originally released.
Bunyan, who was discovered by Rolling Stones manager Andrew
Loog Oldham, and who’s debut single, penned by Jagger
and Richards, got her touted as the next Marianne Faithful,
eventually vanished just as JADD was released.
Lookaftering will be released on 17 October on
Fat-Cat. The album was produced by fellow Scotsman Max
Richter and features collaborations with Devendra
Banhart, Joanna Newsom, Adem, Adam Pierce (Mice
Parade), Robert Kirby, Otto Hauser and Kevin Barker
(Espers / Currituck County). |

COLLECTIVE ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE AND ALBUM

Animal
Collective continue their assault on pop and folk
with their sixth album in five years. Feels,
the follow up to last year’s Sung
Tongs will be released on 17 October on Fat-Cat,
and will be preceded by a single, Grass, on 26
September. This will be the first release from Animal
Collective since their stunning Prospect
Hummer with Vashti Bunyan. The album features
nine tracks as follow: Did You See The Words,
Grass, Flesh Canoe, The Purple Bottle,
Bees, Banshee Beat, Daffy Duck,
Loch Raven and Turn Into Something.
The single features Grass and two non-album tracks:
Fickle Cycle and Must Be Treeman. |

AN
EVENING WITH WARP AT LONDON’S PORTOBELLO FILM FESTIVAL

This
year’s edition of the Portobello Film Festival in
London presents An Evening With Warp on Wednesday
17 August from 6pm at the Westbourne Studios in London.
The evening will begin with a video showcase, then Chris
Morris’s My Wrong will be presented. This
will be followed by a presentation of Final Cut Pro, a
film editing software. Chris Cunningham’s recent
Rubber Johnny will also be shown, just before
Shane Meadows’s feature film Dead Man’s

ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM

duo Icarus
will follow their superb I
Tweet The Birdy Electric, released last year
to critical acclaim on Leaf with their sixth album. Entitled
Carnivalesque, the album is set to be released
on 15 September on the band’s Not Applicable record
label. Carnivalesque will be available on CD
and MP3 format, and features three tracks, or parts. |

NEW
SIGUR RÓS SINGLE AND ALBUM

Details
of the fourth Sigur
Rós album have just been announced. The album,
Takk, which is Icelandic for ‘thanks’,
is set to be released on 12 September on EMI Records.
The album will feature eleven tracks, and was recently
described by lead singer and guitarist Jónsi on
NME as being ‘a bit more happy, with a bit more
hope in it’. The album will be preceded by a download-only
single, released in MP3 format through www.sigur-ros.is.
The European single, Glósóli, will
be released on 15 August, while the American single, Sæglópur,
will be made available on 16 August. |

NEW
AMORPHOUS ANDROGYNOUS ALBUM ANNOUNCED

The
Future Sound Of London are set to release their third
album under their Amorphous Androgynous guise. The follow
up to 2001’s The
Isness is entitled Alice In Ultraland
and is scheduled to be released on 26 September 2005 on
Harvest/EMI. Harvest was the label on which Pink Floyd
released their first few albums in the late sixties and
early seventies. The label, which has been dormant for
some time, was resurrected on FSOL’s
request. The album will feature fourteen tracks and is
said to be darker than its predecessor, but still set
within a psychedelic frame, with orchestral tone. |

LIMITED
AFX / LFO SPLIT EP ON WARP

Warp
are releasing an extremely limited split 12” featuring
two exclusive tracks from AFX
and two from LFO.
The EP, limited to 2000 copies, will be released on 22
August and is exclusively distributed through Warpmart.
The two AFX
tracks are Naks 11 (Mono) and 46 Analord–masplid,
and the two LFO
tracks are Flu Shot (Kringlan) and Pathfinder.
No information is currently available on any of the tracks
apart that one track from each artist was featured on
