From his early work with mythic Cabaret Voltaire, Richard
H Kirk has been a very active and influential member
of the electronic scene. Since the split of the band,
he has recorded numerous albums, under his own name
as well as using many different aliases. But through
the years, he's always been at the forefront of the
genre while not forgetting his industrial roots
Neurometrik, recorded under the Electronic Eye moniker
and released on Alphaphone, Kirk's own label, is deeply
inspired by African tribal sounds, especially on Super
Afrique Highway, and dub. Kirk has always played
with dub, adding a more smoky laidback groove feeling
to his electronica.
All this works towards emphasising Kirk's very own style.
Neurometrik is a brilliant and exciting record,
unveiling itself a little bit more every time, but most
importantly, keeping secrets for later on.
