This is certainly one of the most peculiar collaboration
ever to be recorded. Luke Vibert, of Wagon Christ and
Plug fame, one of the kings of electronica of these
last 10 years, and BJ Cole, a rather obscure country
& western guitarist. And as strange as this could
sound, this album actually works very well.
Fans of Luke Vibert won't be disappointed. His electronica
is still with added bits of Hip-Hop, and sounds stronger
than ever. Stop The Panic, is surprisingly
accessible though. The music seems to flow like fresh
water. The thing is, these two seem to have a lot of
fun playing together, inventing, assimilating, invading
each other's playground. You'll find here everything
from lounge and ambient to funky jazz and Hawiian guitars.
This album is a kaleidoscope of ideas. They had so much
fun in fact that they invited some friends too, amongst
who you'll find Tom
Jenkinson playing the electric bass.
Luke Vibert and BJ Cole have produced with Stop
The Panic one of the most refreshing album for
years.
