Another great release from Warp. This album has been
out for a couple of months already, but we thought it
is still so fresh that we couldn't not include it here.
Plone sit somewhere between Plaid
and Air. Or you could say that they sound a bit like
Enio Morricone on a children's playground. It is cinematic
music for nursery school, or DIY electronica. Not unlike
Air, they bring melodies to their electronic backgrounds,
like little pop songs. They don't use any old flashy
sample. They create amazing atmosferes with just 2p,
a bit of rope and a stick. And all that makes you realise
that after all, electronic music can be accessible,
tuneful and nice to listen to, as well as evocative
and fun.
