Matmos2007 marks the 25th anniversary of The Wire. Originally a publication primarily concerned with jazz, the scope of the magazine has since expanded to incorporate most forms of contemporary music. This milestone will be the occasion for a series of live events, screenings and talks around London during October and November under the banner The Wire 25. Artists due to play include Boredoms, Michael Gira, Matmos, Sunny Murray, John Tchicai, Han Benning, Spring Heel Jack, Sonny Simmons with Tight Meat, Cyclobe, Lydia Lunch, The Bug, Rafael Toral, Terre Thaemlitz, Tim Hecker and many more.

In addition, Mark Webber curates Cinema For The Eyes And Ears, a season of sonic art and music on film. Full detail of The Wire 25 will be available in the magazine and from the magazine’s website next month.
